The film

The whole exchange, end to end.

Find a host, live their week, host one back. No one pays.

How it works

Four steps, no money.

  1. Sign up and get verified

Prove you are a student with your university email. Everyone here is one.

  2. Host students at your place

A spare bed or sofa, your city, your circle. You choose when.

  3. Earn credits

Every night you host adds 10 credits to your wallet.

  4. Spend them anywhere in the network

Credits pay for your stays with students in other cities and countries.

Why a student

Not a bed. A week in their life.

Your host brings you along. Lectures and seminars where the university allows it, their societies, their friends, their food, their city the way they live it.

Where could a month take you?

Every pin is a student’s place you could stay in, paid in credits. Domestic or international, both count.

March

a month that could be yours

Jaipur, 3 nights at Meera’s
London, 2 nights at Tom’s
Edinburgh, 4 nights at Ailsa’s
Delhi, 2 nights at Arjun’s
Agra, a weekend at Sana’s
Mumbai, 3 nights at Dev’s

The month is made up, the cities are real. Actual hosts appear when the exchange opens.

The wallet

Credits, explained.

Earn by hosting

A student stays a night at your place. 10 credits land in your wallet.

Spend on trips

A night with a student anywhere in the network costs 10 credits, anywhere in the network. Finish your profile and you start with 10.

Convert what is left

Hosting more than you travel? From 100 credits earned by hosting, what is left can become scholarship money toward university, funded by Crizac.

No cash, ever

A night is 10 credits, whichever way. These values are a first draft and may change before launch.

For students

The greatest way to see the world while you study.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it safe?

Everyone on the exchange is a verified university student. Host videos are reviewed before they go live, exact addresses are only shared once a trip is accepted, and you can report or block anyone.

Does it cost money?

No. There is no cash anywhere in IEC Exchange. You earn credits by hosting and spend them when you travel. Nobody asks for your card.

How many credits is a night?

Ten, whichever way. Host a night and 10 credits come in, stay a night and 10 go out, anywhere in the network. Finish your profile and you start with 10, enough for a first night. These are draft values and may change before launch.

Who can join?

University students who are 18 or over, verified with a university email. The waitlist is open to anyone, and we verify when the exchange opens.

Can I travel inside my own country?

Yes. Delhi to Chennai counts as much as Delhi to London. Domestic stays are the point, not the exception.

When does it launch?

University by university, as each one comes on board. Join the list and we will tell you the moment yours opens.
